The eight charismatic Argentinians from Rosario Smowing with their singer and frontman Diego Casanova, a visual reminiscence of Tom Waits and Vinicio Capossela, are coming back again to Europe for the fifth time to rivet the audience from the first second of their liveshow.
The „Swing Argentino“ of Rosario Smowing is guaranteed to keep the party jumping and blends a variety of danceable styles of music of the 40s, 50s and 60s, mixing swing, ska, jazz, dixie and rockabilly with mambo, bolero and tango - all wrapped up in one. No doubt that this selfstyled „Rock-Big-Band“ is guaranteed to keep the party jumping!
They atomize catching vitality, which is last but not least due to their frontman, the all-rounder, former Punk-Rock-Singer and songwriter – Diego Javier Casanova – of whom there is also a documentary movie (Video).
Textual, the songs are essentially based on typical tango lyrics, blending in nicely with the „Swing Argentino” in a fresh yet very Argentine way. With this concept, Rosario Smowing is enjoying great success in Argentina, embraced by the media, live as well as on TV. With three records and 17 years of performance experience under their belt they are a very well known act within the independent scene. The first time in Europe was in 2012, with a raving success which continuously developed with the following tours. They played amongst others at the Montreux-Jazzfestival (CH), the MASALA World-Beat Festival (GER), the Fusion (GER), the Dranouter Festival (BE), the Horizonte Festival Koblenz (GER) and many more.
„Their concerts are everything but nice and orderly milongas – the eight guys continue to get the party started. Whether in in the club or at home playing their music „only“ from CD, sitting still is impossible, unless you have a heart of stone.“ Multicult.fm
